Invisible Audio for This Stunning New Hotel

Ebb Dunedin Hotel had been the talk of the town for a good while before opening earlier in 2021, not least because of its stunning facade, with local artist Simon Kaan's artwork covering the entire glass frontage. The local focus carries on throughout the adult-only hotel, from large prints of our dramatic coastline to a mini-bar stocked with Dunedin brands like local artisan Ocho chocolate.

Not surprisingly, when it came to outfitting this ambitious project with the right audio equipment, the owners and their team of builders at Stewart Construction looked locally, and found the team at Vision. Our AV design consultant Kevin Moylan was excited to assess Ebb's requirements and design exactly what was needed: a sound system for the corridors, walkways, themed lounges on each floor, the reception as well as the Café and dining areas - all to be managed centrally from reception. Ease of use and seamless optics were key elements of the installation.

A fair few hours of installation work and over a kilometre of cables later, the only thing seen by the untrained eye is a subtle, sleek looking Crestron 3-Series® Media Presentation Controller on a wall in the reception lounge. And for Kevin, there's nothing more satisfying than to over-deliver on the client's expectations, even if that means our work ends up being virtually invisible.
